In case you didn’t know, Vom Fass, translates from German as “from the cask”. The Westlake Village Vom Fass store carries a full line of imported olive oils (Italy, Spain, Greece, France), infused olive oils (truffle, rosemary, garlic, lemon, etc), seed and nut oils (hazelnut, pine nut, pistachio, pumpkinseed, etc) as well as fine, aged balsamic vinegars and fruit vinegars of every kind imaginable(fig, apple, mango, raspberry, cherry etc etc).
Want to TRUMP someone this year with the perfect gift? They kill it with hard to find liqueurs, wines and distilled spirits (single malts, grappas, cognac/armangnac etc etc). In our store you can taste anything, anytime for free, then select a bottle of a size and style that meets your specific needs.
The big news is this, the help all corporate businesses to build wonderful variety gift sets and baskets for their clients and employees at holiday time. Below I have provided links to their store web site, an online catalog that describes some of the gift opportunities and a brief video tour of the Westlake Village store.

Yesterday we participated (2nd year) inthe Los Angeles Magazine’s Food Event, held at the private Saddlerock Ranch. Have you ever been? If not, you really need to save the date for next year; it’s usually the third Sunday in October. The event brings over 30 restaurants and 20 vineyards to one space to real foodies. It’s not a quantity event, it’s a quality event – tasting, chatting with owners, chefs and restaurateurs, sipping vintages that you can only get in fine wine shops, and you get the idea. Last year we debuted with a Duck Confit Taco, which now as you know has been a seasonal staple on our menu. This year we did a Zinfandel Braised Beef Cheek over Butternut Squash Risotto and a Pumpkin Oil Drizzle. Do not fear the cheek like I did, it was rich and creamy and just enough to make me feel full and like I was sampling “Autumn on a plate”. I’m going to try and convince Chef to get this on the menu, someday. Let’s hear from you, what are your favorite holiday dishes? Maybe I can get him to get yours on there too, with his spin of course.
